I love when I am able to take on projects that leave me inspired. When I look at people who have successfully made their dreams a reality, I’m always reminded, ‘They have the same 24 hours that you do,’ and that motivates me to continue to take over the world.
Back in October, I was invited to spend 24 hours with Terrence J as he launched his promo tour for his new book, “Wealth Of My Mother’s Wisdom.”  Our day started at LAX Airport in Los Angeles, just a few hours after Terrence attended the premiere of his new movie, “Baggage Claim.”  Five hours later, we landed in Greensboro at the crack of dawn, where we drove to 102 Jamz for a radio interview.  From there, we visited three high schools, had a brief stop at the hotel to change, and headed to North Carolina A&T (which made Terrence’s return to the school as big as homecoming.) After conducting a few interviews at his alma mater, Terrence flipped the coin at a football game, and then we headed to a special screening of Baggage Claim, before the night ended with an appearance at a club.  I was worn out, but Terrence was still going, and hours later, he was on a plane to New York, where he would visit The Breakfast Club Morning Show, Hot 97, make visits to a few publications, host his gig at E! News and hop on a plane again to head down to Atlanta.
During his press tour, I took away a few things;  If you want something bad enough, nothing can stop you. It was amazing to me to see how Terrence could host a daily countdown show and make time for acting classes, as well as movie roles, which helped him get to where he is today.  Secondly, I realize through his numerous interviews and his conversations that he had with his mother, that I wish I had cherished the time that I had when my mother was still alive. There is so many questions I would ask about her own childhood and upbringing that I never thought to ask until I read Terrence’s book.
Lastly, if it’s one thing I remember about the entire trip, it’s how happy everyone was for Terrence’s success. It was like he was a ray of hope for those folks who were still working at the radio station that he used to work at, and the students who were pursuing similar careers in entertainment. He was a great example of what they could be if they continued to work hard and stayed focused.
At any rate, catch the photos from our fun-filled 24 hours
