Tears were flowing as I accepted the Soul Train Music Award last month for Best Soul Site. When I got up there, I started thinking about every struggle, every obstacle that I had to face, people who told me ‘no’ or that I couldn’t do it. My parents, my grandmother who always believed in me, everything that I fought so hard for. That moment meant everything to me because I knew that somewhere out there some girl was in the same position I was once in, feeling the same way that I did and she was going to find strength in my story.
For that reason alone, I continue to wake up every day and continue to do what I do in hopes that with all of the entertainment news and juicy tidbits that I may write, that someone will want to know the back story. And they will find it. And read it. And use it for motivation to be, do and become better.
Thank you God for I know that I am blessed and highly favored.

Congratulations Necole! Your aunt didn’t understand your vision, but she knew you were destined for something great. Sometimes we can’t see when people are trying to help us, but after a while it’s clear that they want us to live out to our fullest potentials. Their approach sometimes may not be the greatest, but their heart is usually in the right place 🙂
