I’m back blonde…and curly. Happy hair, happy hair!
Since January, I’ve been experimenting with color while wearing red and auburn tones, and even a few highlights but nothing was really exciting to me. They say blondes have more fun and we truly do!!! Right now, I have four different colors going on which are dark brown and auburn at the bottom and honey blonde with platinum blonde highlights at the top. Fun!
Anyway, every time I post a photo randomly on Instagram, I am asked what hair products I use, so I decided to share on my blog.
While washing my hair, I have been using Mizani True Textures Curl balance shampoo and Curl Replenish Conditioner for the last three years. I also use Jane Carter Solution’s Wrap Foam while the hair is still wet. It defines the curls while leaving it soft versus crunchy –not to mention it’s all natural products and they sell it at Whole Foods. I’ve tried Mixed Chicks conditioner before and it left the curls crunchy and stiff.
I’m a bed head lover, so I love my hair looking like I just rolled out of bed, versus extremely tamed and because of that, I don’t pile products on my hair every day. The trick is to manipulate the curls with a small curling wind every few days and sleep with the hair loosely pulled in a ponytail piled at the very top of your head. Or at least, that’s my regimen!
I hope that helps 🙂
Also as a bonus, here is the CEO of Jane Carter Solution talks about the Wrap & Roll and why the product doesn’t have a crunchy hold.
Thumbs up!
What is your current hair care regimen? I’m open to trying new products and would love to hear from you!
Curl Junkie and Oyin Handmade for me.
ii want curly hair
I mix my own products from essential oils. I don´t use anything on my hair or body that is manufactured with artificial ingredients…. Can´t do it.
I recently started losing my hair due to my chemo so yesterday i had it all cut off.. Now i need to kno what i can use on my remaining hair to keep my scalp healthy..
Hairfinity is great. They´re all natural dietary pills that increases hair and nail growth. Once I started my hair began to grow an inch a month.
The usual, clarify once a month, always deep condition. And keep it. Moisturize everyday. When it´s curly I´ll co wash often. When it´s straight, I´ll do pin curls to keep it styled without using more heat 🙂
Where can I order? Also did it make u grow hair other places cuz some vitamins I took made me grow facial hair too :/
I LOVE SHEA MOISTURE! Lol I use the Raw Shea Butter (gold label) line, Its Organic and works wonders for my transitioning to natural hair. I also use Castor Oil on my edges, scalp and ends and I do weekly hot oil treatments with the castor oil.
Ladies if you know someone with a fucked up hairline and edges buy them som Castor oil…works wonders!
Well I normally use Doo Gro Hair Vitalizer on my hair
Garnier products!
Looooove Jane Carter Wrap & Roll if I want that curl poppin, wash n go. Shampoo: use shampoo bars like Bobeam (Etsy) and Chagrin Valley (chagrinvalleysoapaandsalves.com), if I don´t feel like shampoo I´ll Cowash: As I Am Coconut Cowash and Ren (knock brand of WEN) Cleansing Conditioner. LeaveIn: Camille Rose Moisture Milk and all her butters, Curly Kinks Satin Roots, Paul Mitchell The Condtioner. Styler: EcoStyler brown gels, BlendedCutie (blendedbeauty.com) Soft Curls & Swirls, Loreal Studio Mineral FX (German version). Conditioner: Tresemme Naturals Nourishing Moisture, OyinHandmade Honey Hemp. Deep Conditioner: Camille Rose Algae, Alikay Naturals Avocado Cream repairing mask, Nubian Heritage Grow&Strengthen. Treatment Masque(also use this as a leavin…BOMB). I have so many other products cause I´m a Product junkie.. By default lol. but these are the products I would pull put first.
Softsheen!! (for curls)
You are a hair product junkie I see! LOL!

Ms Jessie´s curly pudding and baby butter cream, pure coconut oil for frizz and shine.. Herbal essence conditioner hello hydration also mix the conditioner with a lil water for a leave n conditioner lasting curls 😉 #boutthathairlife
the products i use for my curls are curls unleashed, african pride shea butter curling pudding olive oil and many others lol
I use baby buttercreme by Miss Jessie´s to slick those edges down when they start looking rough. It´s kind of greasy but it does the trick.
I use shea moisture, coconut oil, and the cantu shea leave in conditioner.
I didn´t know all that was your hair Necole I thought it was a good wig or weave. #Noshade, it looks good though ☺ I like it.
@Ciara Hull, we all love a good weave 🙂 🙂 🙂
@Necole, I’m scared of colour so I definitely admire how unafraid you are to try out new hair colours! I think this blonde colour combo fits you best. And I especially like when your hair has mega mega volume. What do you do to get so it voluminous: tease it at the roots, add extensions or do you wash it with volumizing shampoo/conditioner?
@Astrel Medina, I use a diffuser. I tease it a little but not to the point where it’s frizzy. Also I notice it gets bigger and bigger each night I wear it pulled up in a very high pony tail
when my hair is curly I use the Mixed Chicks leave in conditioner, tresemme hair mousse, and carol´s daughter hair balm…Works wonders!
Not a fan of carols daughter.. I tried better
I also tried bee mine.. Smells really good
Chagrin and Tresemme are awesome too!
Yep! Now they have henna bars! Shouldve mentioned I use henna as a dye and monthly hair treatment.
Thanks for posting this Necole, as a fellow curly haired girl I will definitely be trying the products you just mentioned, it is very hard to find the right products especially now that the market is saturated with curly hair products. 🙂
@Fatima, Let me know how it goes! What are you currently using?
@Necole, hey 🙂 I currently use Loreal no sulphate shampoo and conditioner and for styling It I use Moroccan oil intense curl cream
@Necole , oh and by the way big fan of your blog, I read your posts more than my law books lol xx

I got big curly hair as well and been dying my hair blond for 3 years, i just recently went back to brown. My hair sure need tender love and care, after trying all kinds of product my favourite that I use now is shampoo, conditioner and hair mask: TRESemme Keratin Smooth a little tip on how to make the hair soft is to put the hair mask on dry hair in the evening wrap a towel around it wash it in the morning.
For styling I use Aussie dual personality curl definition soft feel serum, Redken fresh curls curl refiner and organix brazilian keratin therapy anti-breakage serum. The organix serum is great to put in the ends or use it when straightening your hair. Love your blog! x
Who dyes your hair Necole? Love the colors!
@Nia Hughes, Will at Styles Salon
funny enuf, always tot u were wearin weave-on
im lovin dat color on u
Pantene Relaxed n´ natural is my FAVE conditioner for co-washing, 2nd place is As I Am´s Coconut co-wash. I love Oyin handmade products, mainly the burnt sugar pomade.
My hair just started liking the Shea Moisture but I have to add an oil to it…coconut, carrot or macadamia.
Used to like Carol´s Daughter until I discovered better and less expensive products. I like Shea Moisture, Eco Gel, coconut oil and As I Am products.
Stephanie you´re a PJ like me!!! I wasn´t even about to name all the stuff I have! It´s riddick!!! But I love trying stuff! About to try BASK products, they look divine so I have to!
Also Tresseme Naturals , Aussie Moist, Trader Joe and Hello Hydration conditioners for co washing
Nicole Bitchie you need to come to the World Natural Hair Show in Atlanta one year. This year it´s next weekend, I´ll be going! But my hair is coily and curly…but I love Oyin´s Shine and Define, As I Am cowash, Terraessentials Mud Wash and I am absolutely in LOVE with Qhemet Biologics!!!
Necole , I didn’t know that was your real hair.
And I just use coconut oil everyday, deep condition every 3-4 days. My hair get dirty quick b/c I work out a lot. I also wear wigs a lot and twist my real hair in two strand twists and leave it alone until the next wash day.
I deep condition in a cocktail of coconut oil, castor oil, and tresemme natural conditioner.
I wash in a sulfate free shampoo. But sometimes I don’t even use shampoo.
For my two strand twists, if I’m not wearing a wig, I make flaxseed gel homemade and twist with that.
Out of all the hair stylist in Atlanta, there is one who can straighten natural hair without heat damaging my hair. Her IG name is “kutnup”. She’s great.
My go-to conditioner is Giovanni Leave-in Conditioner. I love argan and olive oils. For stylers, I´m using Elasta Feels Like Silk Liquid Styling Gel mixed with whatever cream I have on hand (MJ´s Pillow Soft Curls, Mixed Silk conditioner, Curls Brule).
The Jamaican Castor oil save my edges and I had a center bald for 15 years…spend thousands to get treatments that did not work. Used that Jamaican Castor oil and bam..bald spot gone and full hair is baçk. It´s the truth
i have colored hair… so it’s creme of nature.. sulfate free argan oil… the shampoo conditioner…..and my color is by them too. in a shade called ginger blonde. and this hot oil treatment by queen helene…..
Omg this comment section was a blessing…I have been natural for a while now…I haven’t been keeping track because it just sort of happened. I have recently started getting into the whole natural styling thing and its been quite the journey. I find my self spending more money on my natural hair than I did with perms but as long as my hair is healthy I am happy.
Um…that is not Necole’s hair *side eye*. However, it is very flattering and cute on her
*side eyes right back* >__> OH! that’s not Necole’s hair? Anyway. Necole your hair is beautiful!
May I simply say what a relief to find somebody that truly understands what they’re discussing on the net. You definitely know how to bring a problem to light and make it important. More people ought to read this and understand this side of the story. It’s surprising you aren’t more popular since you surely have the gift.|
