If you follow me on social media networks, or have ever gone out on a date with me (haha!) you’d know that I’m obsessed with guacamole. And this is before I researched the health benefits which include high in fiber content, and rich in vitamins B (helps the body’s metabolism), vitamin K (helps maintain bone density) and vitamin E.
Am I the only one hooked?
My obsession started when I visited a Mexican restaurant in Jersey, where the server makes the guac right in front of you.  After returning to the restaurant just to eat the guacamole 2-3 times a week, I figured I’d save a little cash and start making it on my own at home.
I got all cute with it and made it official by buying a stone molcajete similar to the one that they used at the restaurant. You can’t tell me nothing.
Here’s the ingredients of my favorite guac:
1-2 chopped jalapeño peppers
1/2 cup of Cilantro
1- 1/2 teaspoon of Sea Salt
2 slices of lime
2 avocado halves
And here’s the instructions courtesy of the servers at my favorite restaurant.
Gaucamole 2
Start with your jalapeños. I chop up two because I love spicy!! [You can skip this step if you don’t like spicy].  Add in a 1/2 cup of chopped onions and cilantro  (more or less depending on taste.)
Gaucamole lime and sea salt
Add a teaspoon of sea salt (Watch out now..it could get salty. I’d add a little at a time and taste after it’s done.)  Squeeze in two lime slices.
Gaucamole 3
Mash everything. (You can use a fork, stone..or potato masher)
Gaucamole 4.jpg
Add in two avocado halves.
Gaucamole 6
Mash all of the ingredients together.
Happy Girls
All done! That makes for two happy sisters 🙂
Don’t forget the chips.
I might add, I was a little alarmed the first time I cut open an avocado and the stone was in the middle. I read somewhere that you can actually eat the stone and it’s high in anti-oxidants but I’m good on that 🙂
