I recently realized that between the hours of 3am-5am, when the world is quiet, you can really come up with some genius level sh-t. My greatest business ideas have developed between those times.
It didn’t help that I recently read the book, “40 Successful Habits Of Oprah Winfrey” and “Oprah Goes To Bed Early and Rises Early” was listed as habit #1. I am a true believer that if you want to be successful, than you should follow the habits of successful people as well as read the books they are reading.
In Brian Tracy’s book, “Million Dollar Habits” he wrote:
When you get up early, at 5:30 or 6:00 in the morning, you will have ample time to think about the day ahead and to plan your work activities. Early rising gives you an opportunity to read, reflect, and meditate. Early rising enables you to get up and go without a feeling of pressure to rush out of the house in order to get to work on time.
A few early rising tips:
Try avoiding stressful activity just before going to bed. Read or listen to something pleasant (I’m a big believer in this. When I listen to uplifting or soothing music, I have very sweet dreams 🙂 ) Avoid watching the news just before bed as it’s riddled with depressing information. (You don’t want to take that into your dreams or the next day.)
Use your bedroom only for sleeping and avoid work related matters.
