Short days and long nights definitely the motto these days, so kudos to today’s Fab Find, Tailored Rebels, for pretty much summing up my life in one sweatshirt; and for being the reason why I can’t get Marsha Ambrosius’ “Late Nights, Early Mornings” out of my head.
I came across the brand about a month ago and instantly fell in love with the statements on their tees and crew necks. The various messages were very personal to me. ‘FCK Cancer,’ reminded me of my mom’s battle with breast cancer, ‘Never Too Late,’ reminds me that it’s never too late to go for your dreams and goals, and of course the ‘short days and long nights,’ sums up what kind of time it takes to get a business off the ground, especially in the creative industry .
The collection was created back in 2012 by two full-time government workers, and according to Toni, co-owner of the brand, the actual ‘Short Days Long Nights’ tee was inspired by the classic jam ‘What They Do’ by The Roots.
There was a line ‘living the life of limos and lights, airplanes and trains, short days and long nights’ and it only made sense to put it on our next release, as many of us can relate to the message. Whether it’s spent “living the life of limos and lights” or simply just burning the midnight oil trying to create the next dope tee or pen the next great blog… We all have and love those ‘short days and long nights.’
