I live by this. At one point, I somehow surrounded myself with a lot of unhappy people and it became toxic. I now feel free.
People, can have the strongest affect on our lives. I believe that you become, the people, you hang out with. The people you associate with and share ideas with have a major influence on how you choose to act upon or not act upon your dreams.
Always surround yourself with positive “can do” people. If you can’t find anyone like this, then simply immerse yourself into positive books, magazines, tapes and eventually you will attract positive people automatically. At first it may be difficult, all good things are, and by the way, remember that everyone has problems on some level or another… it’s how you choose to react that makes the difference in the quality of your life.
We must discipline ourselves to remove the negative people in our lives. Often we fail to realize how influenced we are by the people we work with, socialize with and spend time with. The solution to this is quite simple:… “Surround yourself with the kinds of people you want to be like !!!!” Read more
I read somewhere that you are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with. The insane part about that is the five people I spend the most time with own their own businesses and they are BRANDS. Amazing..
Is your circle a reflection of who you are? If not, you may need to do some rearranging…
I did.
For the past weeks I’ve been thinking about changing my surroundings. Everyone around me is pulling me like I am an octopus and even more I’m also struggling financially. I am struggling with if I should go back to school or if I should get a 2nd job. I am SO stressed out. Plus, I am getting fed up with people calling me whining and complaining. I read the article and it is so true. “Surround yourself with the kinds of people you want to be like” Yes, I guess I’m going to have to step out out faith! Cutting certain ppl out of my life is not a big problem. It’s the financial expect of everything for me. I’m not sure if I should do the school thing again (so that I can be licensed) or just hold off later and get a 2nd job????
ITA with tyrese………….i just started doing that and i can tell u i see a different already
Necole I just heart you!! This post is so on point. I think alot of people were noticing the shade you were receiving from people in Atl..but look at it as a blessing Atlanata was just a stepping stone for you to move onto better things. I remebr when you posted in one of other entries how you never really felt like Atlanta was a place you wanted to settle-or something similar to that but anyways as they always sa when something doesn’t feel right its not right and it obviously wasn’t meant for you to stay there. Good luck and I don’t know you but I am really proud of you and what you have accomplished.
Necole, you hit the nail on the head with this one. I have been saying this very thing. Toxic people will bring you down. I don’t blog for others, I do it for me. I write stories I know others would love to read and I know it’s all about surrounding yourself with people who are about something. My day will come, just like you had yours. In fact, you’re still living the dream by all you have endured and sacrificed and what you accomplished those toxic people can’t touch. You inspire me to be greater, to reach higher, and for that as a fellow blogger and inspiring writer, I thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Your words are so helpful and keep me motivated. God bless you.
Wow! I just found your blog via MissJia’s site and I really needed to see this post. Thanks you! This was really inspirational! 🙂
